Description

  • Design and implement trusted safe navigation, collision avoidance, and situational awareness systems in a multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Design and implement scalable subsystems for sensor processing, perception, tracking, motion planning, health management, anomaly detection, simulation, testing, and vehicle interfaces.
  • Contribute to the design and development of reusable software components across multiple Anduril product lines.
  • Apply computer vision, sensor fusion, and machine learning techniques to improve vehicle perception and planning.
  • Test and validate perception and planning algorithms using simulation and analysis of real-world experiment data.
  • Develop and improve data analysis tooling to support algorithm validation and experimentation.
  • Collaborate with software, mechanical, and systems engineering teams to integrate and test systems effectively.
  • Travel up to 20% of the time to co-locate with end users and other teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient in C++ and/or Python software development.
  • Familiarity with autonomous vehicle hardware and sensors such as radar, sonar, LIDAR, and cameras.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of at least one of the following: computer vision, sensor fusion, SLAM, motion planning, or machine learning.
  • Experience in a senior perception or planning role delivering a robotic system.
  • Ability to act as technical owner for a system, including stakeholder engagement, requirements definition, roadmap management, team coordination, design, implementation, sustainment, and evolution.
  • Ability to collaborate on robust validation and verification strategies for perception and planning modules.
  • Ability to mentor junior team members and help build team cohesion and capability.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Experience with autonomous systems in the ground, air, maritime, or space domains (preferred).
  • Experience with simulation tools and frameworks such as Gazebo, Unity, or Unreal Engine (preferred).
  • Knowledge of safety standards and certification processes for autonomous systems (preferred).
  • Familiarity with systems engineering concepts (preferred).
