Description

  • Develop a new augmented reality vision system for Army soldiers.
  • Pursue prototyping and evaluation efforts with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Design wearable mechanical solutions that balance human factors, comfort, and packaging needs.
  • Meet stringent SWAP-C requirements for the system.
  • Perform detailed mechanical design for prototype and production hardware using metals and composites.
  • Manage complex parts and assemblies and produce high-quality engineering drawings.
  • Conduct structural and thermal first-order analyses to support trade studies and concept designs.
  • Support traditional and additive manufacturing approaches, including molding, laminating, and machining.
  • Collaborate on designs for ergonomic fit, usability, and prolonged tactical wear.
  • Work with military qualification needs and durable, ruggedized product development.

Requirements

  • BS, M.Eng, MS, or PhD in an engineering field.
  • 5+ years of post-graduate professional Mechanical Engineering experience.
  • CAD skills on any platform and ability to manage complex parts and assemblies.
  • Experience producing high-quality engineering drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of detailed mechanical design for prototype-through-production development.
  • Experience with ergonomic and human factors design for wearable devices.
  • Ability to perform structural and thermal analysis for concept development and trade studies.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes including molding, laminating, and machining.
  • Understanding of thermal and environmental effects on materials and performance.
  • Must be eligible to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.
  • Preferred: consumer electronics packaging and design experience, including cameras, displays, SoC integration, and ruggedization.
  • Preferred: experience with military qualification programs and a deep understanding of MIL-STD requirements.
  • Preferred: experience with NX/Teamcenter, including FEA extensions.
  • Preferred: rapid prototyping and iteration using 3D printed assets.
