Description

  • Maintain generators by diagnosing issues, repairing problems, and replacing components or entire systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance and performance checks to keep generators ready for operation.
  • Read and follow blueprints or other design specifications when installing or repairing equipment.
  • Install fuel and water supply lines, pumps, electrical wiring, controls, and related components.
  • Test generator systems to verify proper operation after installation or repair.
  • Respond promptly to power and generator alarms and handle assigned calls and messages in a timely manner.
  • Be available for 24/7 on-call duty when required, including emergency callouts, weekends, and holidays.
  • Work safely around power supply equipment and participate in required safety and training meetings.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of generator maintenance experience preferred.
  • At least 1 year of intensive work-related experience with generator and electrical maintenance software, hardware, and processes.
  • Thorough knowledge of generator installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components.
  • Basic knowledge of FCC, FAA, EPA, and OSHA regulations.
  • Moderate computer skills.
  • Ability to lift over 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, and standing for long periods.
  • Ability to inspect and troubleshoot equipment and alarms visually and audibly.
  • Willingness to drive long distances and work day, evening, or night hours as needed.
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical.
