Description

  • Perform maintenance and construction activities on substations and transmission lines up to 345kV.
  • Hold or obtain Master Electrician licenses in multiple jurisdictions and serve as the Master Electrician of Record for the company.
  • Oversee maintenance and construction of electrical collection systems, including underground cable faults, pad-mount transformers, switchgears, splices, wiring up to 34.5kV, and substation riser terminations.
  • Conduct or oversee scanning and testing of HV, MV, and LV cables.
  • Lead, train, and instruct 3-5 crew members in safe work practices for assigned tasks.
  • Oversee substation switching and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and test electrical components and systems.
  • Oversee service work on underground collection systems, substations, and fiber optic sensing and control systems.
  • Replace worn or malfunctioning components and ensure proper functioning of electrical units on site.
  • Maintain logs of electrical repair and maintenance work and complete tasks assigned by the supervising manager.

Requirements

  • Licensed Master Electrician.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the electrical utility industry.
  • Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus.
  • Experience with installation, maintenance, repair, and inspection of systems and service work in new or remodeled substations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form.
  • Basic computer operation skills and familiarity with internet-based program navigation.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions with precise execution.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand drawings and schematics.
  • Proven experience in a field-based role with limited supervisory interaction.
  • Willingness and ability to obtain Master Electrician licenses in various states/jurisdictions.
