Description

  • Own production test activities and maintain the production test flow, including hands-on troubleshooting of complex electrical issues.
  • Maintain test coverage across the manufacturing value stream, from system-level checkout and acceptance testing to component-level validation.
  • Improve and sustain test systems to increase automation, consistency, cycle time, and test coverage.
  • Create clear test work instructions in MES and train technicians on equipment use as needed.
  • Develop troubleshooting references for common failure modes to speed issue resolution.
  • Perform root cause analysis of product failures and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support customer returns and failure analysis with Design, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering teams.
  • Contribute to early-stage test design for new product introduction and test processes.
  • Analyze test data, document results, and produce reports to identify defects and improvement opportunities.
  • Optimize test strategies and support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce test time without compromising quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics, Computer, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of relevant industry experience with emphasis on manufacturing test and product sustainment.
  • Familiarity with Linux, Ubuntu, LabVIEW, and NixOS.
  • Experience working with contract manufacturers on PCBA/electronic assembly testing and knowledge of PCBA testing standards and methods.
  • Familiarity with electronics test equipment including power supplies, electronic loads, oscilloscopes, function generators, spectrum analyzers, data acquisition, and measurement sensors.
  • Strong root cause analysis skills for non-conforming hardware.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with PLM systems, MES, and Test Execution Systems (TES).
  • Experience integrating electrical, mechanical, and software/firmware systems.
  • Active U.S. Secret security clearance and ability to maintain it.
  • 10+ years of relevant industry experience (preferred).
  • Pursuing a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Python, LabVIEW, and/or MATLAB for data parsing and visualization (preferred).
  • Experience with test automation, PCBA design, and mechanical design (preferred).
  • Experience with hardware communication protocols such as USB, Ethernet, RS232, RS485, PCIe, HDMI, and CAN (preferred).
  • Experience with ESS-related testing, such as thermal and vibration testing (preferred).
