Description

  • Own PCBAs and avionics used on the program and support production with cross-functional teams.
  • Use New Product Introduction (NPI) expertise to transition electromechanical products from prototype to high-volume production.
  • Collaborate early with Design Engineering to provide Design for Manufacturability feedback.
  • Develop and maintain PCBA workmanship standards, process parameters, and design rules.
  • Establish scalable DFM frameworks across multiple products, sites, and manufacturing partners.
  • Lead technical verification of quick-turn and volume PCBA vendor capabilities, including SMT, advanced packaging, underfill, edge bond, and specialty processes.
  • Ensure subcontractors comply with approved manufacturing processes, materials, and quality targets.
  • Mentor and lead a high-performing team of PCBA DFM engineers and technical leads.
  • Review PCBA technical drawings, assemble PCBAs, troubleshoot board issues, and implement quality control standards.

Requirements

  • Degree in a technical field such as engineering, math, or a hard science is preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in manufacturing or design related to PCBA and SMT processes, advanced packaging.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver electromechanical hardware in a resource-constrained environment.
  • Demonstrated in-kind or direct team cooperation skills with supporting examples.
  • Personal experience physically manufacturing hardware, such as machining, fabrication, soldering, or assembly.
  • Experience with personal or extracurricular hardware projects is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally, less than 25%, to support global manufacturing operations.
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities.
  • Experience with Altium software is preferred.
  • Experience with IPC-610 and J-STD-001 standards is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with R/C and/or autonomous flight vehicles, flight controllers, or related control systems is preferred.
  • Software scripting experience in any language is preferred.
  • Strong background in material science, electronics packaging, and reliability engineering is preferred.
  • Current active U.S. Secret security clearance is preferred.
