Description

  • Produce and maintain capacity models and production ramp plans to support labor planning, capital requirements, workstation design, and throughput gap analysis.
  • Design facility layouts and production lines using CAD and simulation to meet process requirements and production targets.
  • Identify and drive improvements to production bottlenecks and sources of variability across disciplines and stakeholders.
  • Use data-driven methods to improve production design, process performance, and throughput.
  • Own reporting and analysis of manufacturing health and provide decision-making inputs to Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Growth teams.
  • Maintain a data-driven virtual factory as a current digital reference model for performance assessment.
  • Lead the design of production lines and workstations for both low-rate and full-rate production using Value Stream Mapping and Line Balancing.
  • Collaborate closely with Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, and Business Operations teams to support manufacturing execution.
  • Support products being built and shipped to stringent quality standards in a fast-paced, resource-limited environment.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a high-rate manufacturing environment in a production or supply chain role with complex mechanical and/or electrical assemblies and heavy data use.
  • Experience with factory or production line design and setup, including Value Stream Mapping, flow lines, continuous flow, one-piece flow, and workstation design.
  • Experience with material flow systems, including pull systems, Kanban, min/max calculations, part presentation, tote bin packaging, and lineside racking.
  • Experience using Siemens Plant Simulation or Process Simulation software to model production lines and run scenarios.
  • Demonstrated ability to own a value chain end to end while coordinating internal and external parties to achieve on-time delivery under stringent quality standards.
  • Prior knowledge or experience with ERP, WMS, and MES systems.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and implementation.
  • Willingness to take on substantial responsibility across manufacturing, engineering, and operations with a bias toward speed and accuracy.
  • Strong technical ability to read drawings and CAD data, with understanding of hardware manufacturing processes for electronics, structures, mechanical components, and electromechanical systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in industrial, mechanical, aerospace, manufacturing, electrical, or computer engineering (preferred).
  • Prior work designing or setting up new production lines or factories, from process mapping through workstation design and infrastructure collaboration (preferred).
  • Experience interacting with SQL databases and writing custom queries for production and inventory metrics (preferred).
  • Experience with production simulation tools such as Siemens PlantSim/ProcessSim or equivalent discrete-event simulation software like Promodel, FlexSim, or Simio (preferred).
  • Basic knowledge of object-oriented programming languages such as Python, R, C++, or Java, or experience working with large datasets using SQL or NoSQL (preferred).
  • Knowledge of stochastic and deterministic models and when to apply them (preferred).
  • Experience handling large datasets, including filtering, trend analysis, and graphical representation (preferred).
  • Knowledge of design and manufacturing engineering processes, including 3D CAD modeling, 3D factory layout, manufacturing process planning, simulation of assembly processes and ergonomics, and statistical process control (preferred).

Benefits

  • US salary range of $129,000 to $171,000.
  • Highly competitive equity grants included in the majority of full-time offers.
  • Comprehensive, competitive benefits package available at little to no cost to employees.
  • Support for health, recovery, and future needs through the benefits program.
  • Top-tier benefits for full-time employees.
