Description

Plan and execute system-level test and evaluation of hardware and software, including ground and flight testing.
Lead test planning, execution, reporting, and evaluation of software and hardware under minimal supervision.
Develop evaluation test plans, test cards, and test reports focused on system functionality and integration suitability.
Conduct safety and risk analysis for test events, including hazard identification and mitigation planning.
Collect test data, perform initial data analysis, and document test results, observations, and issues.
Coordinate test events at private and government-owned ranges, including pre- and post-flight briefings.
Manage configuration and fleet assets for test-owned hardware, payloads, and software/firmware versions.
Work closely with program management, engineering teams, SMEs, pilots, and operations to align requirements and review results.
Support test event logistics, including scheduling, resource planning, airspace, personnel, and maintenance requirements.
Operate Altius during system evaluation testing and track sortie metrics and delays.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline from an accredited institution.
Ability to quickly learn new concepts, organize work phases, and determine the right approach to complex problems.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, plus strong interpersonal skills.
Methodical, thorough, detail-oriented, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to learn new skills and concepts.
Current or ability to obtain FAA Part 107 certification for Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems.
Current or ability to obtain FAA Part 61 pilot/ground instructor certification (ground test complete is the only requirement).
Working knowledge of National Airspace and UAS operating guidelines and regulations.
Ability to obtain a security clearance.
Ability to work extended hours and travel as required.
Preferred: strong software and documentation experience, including Linux, networking, SSH, and command-line tools.
Preferred: 5+ years of flight test engineering or system-level testing experience.
Preferred: experience with Group 2/3 fixed-wing systems.
Preferred: experience working on DOD programs.

Benefits

Salary range of $132,000 to $198,000 USD.
