Description

  • Lead and execute developmental flight test efforts for the Fury development test program under minimal supervision.
  • Plan, prepare, execute, and report on test events across laboratory, ground, and flight environments.
  • Support envelope expansion, flying qualities, vehicle autonomy, and operational-environment testing for new aircraft development.
  • Ensure comprehensive flight test campaign execution for multiple test articles in support of high-risk events.
  • Support test execution at government test facilities in coordination with U.S. government partners.
  • Facilitate technical interactions between disparate engineering teams, including Flight Operations and Maintenance.
  • Contribute to periodic and milestone engineering reviews and technical discussions with customer representatives.
  • Develop creative solutions to complex technical and execution challenges and drive process improvements to increase test efficiency.
  • Manage resource planning for test activities and coordinate work phases across the test program.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience as a test conductor or director for developmental aircraft, weapons, or missile systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline from an accredited institution, or equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
  • Experience with developmental systems of manned and/or unmanned aircraft, including requirements development, test planning and execution, and test reporting.
  • Strong understanding of Test & Evaluation engineering concepts, principles, codes, and theory, with broad application experience.
  • Experience working across program Integrated Product Teams to influence system design or configuration.
  • Current working knowledge of DCMA INST 8210, MIL-STD-516, 14 CFR, and service-related T&E guiding documents.
  • Working knowledge of the National Airspace System, government restricted airspace, and UAS operating rules and regulations.
  • Prior experience conducting development flight test operations at military ranges.
  • Strong computer and documentation experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team on complex engineering tasks.
  • Experience with large aircraft development and working with the Department of Defense (DoD).
  • Ability to work extended hours and travel as required for test planning and execution.
  • Ability to immediately obtain a U.S. Top Secret-level security clearance.
  • Preferred: 15+ years of experience in Test & Evaluation or related technical fields.
  • Preferred: prior role as a Flight Test Engineering Lead.
  • Preferred: experience with a developmental aircraft or major aircraft system first flight.
  • Preferred: experience managing individuals or teams.
  • Preferred: experience with large UAS development.
  • Preferred: experience working within a Combined Test Force or equivalent.
