Description

  • Execute assigned tasks and project activities to complete deliverables successfully.
  • Support engineers by building prototypes, sub-assemblies, feasibility test units, and samples.
  • Use drawings, diagrams, written instructions, and test procedures to perform testing, checkout, and troubleshooting.
  • Repair and rework PCBAs and cable harnesses/assemblies during engineering tests.
  • Procure and source electrical components as directed by lead engineers.
  • Fabricate special test equipment, electronic test boxes, and harnesses.
  • Set up and use standard test equipment, including oscilloscopes, power analyzers, power supplies, and digital multimeters.
  • Perform harness builds and circuit board modifications, including component rework and soldering/de-soldering.
  • Adapt work plans in a fast-paced environment with ambiguous targets.
  • Conduct prototype hardware troubleshooting for electro-mechanical assemblies such as drones, vehicles, or similar systems.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an engineering/electronics technician in a prototype or engineering development lab.
  • Ability to read and understand complex PCBA schematics, cable assembly drawings, and test procedures.
  • Experience building and troubleshooting prototype electro-mechanical hardware, including PCBAs, cables, wiring harnesses, and assemblies.
  • Experience with standard electrical prototyping processes, including PCBA rework.
  • Extensive prototyping experience with soldering, crimping, and cable assembly to IPC standards.
  • Knowledge of electrical components, connectors, basic hand tools, and crimping equipment.
  • Basic understanding of electrical principles and fundamental electrical engineering concepts.
  • Familiarity with electrical test equipment such as DMMs, oscilloscopes, and function generators.
  • U.S. Person status is required due to access to export-controlled data.
  • Preferred: associate-level degree in electronics or electrical assembly, or equivalent.
  • Preferred: 5+ years of experience as an engineering/electronics technician or team lead.
  • Preferred: strong understanding of PCBs, PCBAs, prototyping, and assembly techniques.
  • Preferred: experience with task management software such as Trello or JIRA.
  • Preferred: experience with electrical CAD tools such as Altium, Rapid Harness, or other EWIS software.
  • Preferred: ability to hand solder PCBAs per IPC-J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, or IPC-7711.
  • Preferred: wire harness experience in accordance with IPC-A-620 standards.
  • Preferred: willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Preferred: ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs unassisted.
