Description

  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to complete hardware development tasks on schedule.
  • Build complex electromechanical assemblies and integrate them into final products.
  • Solder electronic modules, modify COTS components, and flash or load software and firmware onto devices.
  • Perform precision PCB rework, including fine-pitch soldering, component replacement, jumper installation, and wiring modifications.
  • Build cable assemblies and wiring harnesses with crimping, termination, continuity testing, and labeling.
  • Fabricate simple test fixtures, electronic test boxes, jigs, adapters, and harnesses to support engineering workflows.
  • Support board-level bring-up, engineering verification testing, and regression testing across development phases.
  • Troubleshoot electrical assemblies and subassemblies to identify faults and performance issues.
  • Document build steps, test results, rework, and lessons learned to improve repeatability and traceability.
  • Maintain lab organization, including ESD-safe practices, tool calibration, equipment upkeep, and inventory tracking.
  • Travel to suppliers and test sites to support engineering teams.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of experience as an engineering technician in an R&D environment.
  • Strong electronics background in robotics, defense, avionics, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience building electromechanical hardware, including PCBAs and wiring harnesses.
  • Ability to read and build from schematics, cable assembly drawings, and test procedures with minimal instruction.
  • Proficiency in PCB rework, including component removal and replacement down to 0201, wiring modifications, and connector/cable work.
  • Strong troubleshooting experience at the board and component levels, with the ability to identify failure modes.
  • Familiarity with basic electrical test equipment such as DMMs, power supplies, electronic loads, oscilloscopes, function generators, and data acquisition or measurement sensors.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • U.S. Person status required due to access to export-controlled data.
  • Associate degree in electronics/electrical assembly or equivalent (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of PCBs, PCBAs, prototyping, and assembly techniques (preferred).
  • Familiarity with IPC quality standards, including IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 (preferred).
  • Experience with electrical CAD tools such as Altium, Rapid Harness, or other EWIS software (preferred).
  • Prior experience with JIRA, Teamcenter (PLM), Oracle (ERP), or equivalent tools (preferred).
