Description

  • Own full-cycle PCB design from requirements collection and schematic design through component selection, layout oversight, bring-up, testing, debugging, and system integration.
  • Develop fuzing circuitry for missile systems.
  • Collaborate with vehicle development teams to design, document, and produce tailored fuzing systems and effectors.
  • Develop system interconnect diagrams and define wire harnesses for electronic equipment within the vehicle.
  • Support other air vehicle subsystem development efforts within cross-functional constraints.
  • Perform vendor surveys and evaluations to support sourcing of system components.
  • Conduct peer-level and cross-discipline design reviews.
  • Build and test system components in lab, ground, and flight-test environments.
  • Develop low-level firmware for bring-up and testing.
  • Perform root-cause analysis in support of field operations.

Requirements

  • BS or higher in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience designing, testing, and troubleshooting complex board designs.
  • Competence with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, thermal chambers, current probes, and test automation.
  • Familiarity with standard interfaces including Ethernet, CAN, I2C, SPI, PCIe, and USB.
  • Familiarity with common MCU, CPU, and FPGA devices and technologies.
  • Knowledge of modern analog and digital electronics and electronic circuits.
  • Experience with signal integrity and power integrity design.
  • Comfort using electronic CAD tools; Altium preferred, with Eagle and other tools acceptable.
  • Test experience including data acquisition, data analysis, and project coordination.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Ability to travel as required for testing, with surges up to 25%.
  • Preferred: active U.S. security clearance (DoD Secret or Top Secret, or DOE L or Q).
  • Preferred: 5-10 years of individual-contributor experience in electrical design, analysis, and testing of fuzing and/or ordnance systems.
  • Preferred: understanding of DO-254, DO-178C, DO-160, and relevant avionics design standards for UAS.
  • Preferred: experience in UAS, missiles, or maritime programs.
  • Preferred: experience with DoD Weapons Safety Boards, MIL-STD-1316, MIL-STD-882E, MIL-STD-2105, JOTP-052, and JOTP-054.
  • Preferred: experience designing and scaling production of components at volume.
  • Preferred: experience with explosive operations and/or handling munitions.
