Description

  • Manage the site Materials Review Board (MRB) process.
  • Inspect non-conforming parts and verify nonconformances.
  • Support root cause analysis and the disposition of non-conforming material.
  • Manage internal rework and ensure timely completion of disposition tasks.
  • Maintain accurate and complete MRB data collection and entry.
  • Communicate quality issues and process performance to key stakeholders to drive improvements.
  • Execute vendor return material authorization (RMA) activities with Warehouse and Buyers.
  • Perform Verification First Article Inspections (FAI) on incoming material and coordinate supplier FAI acceptance.
  • Manage quality containment for material, tooling, and inspection equipment affecting production capacity and capability.
  • Create inspection plans for incoming, in-process, and end-of-line inspection and train technicians and inspectors to execute them.
  • Propose and implement quality assurance policies, procedures, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Support calibration activities, internal audits, and data/traceability investigations to identify trends and process variation.
  • Stay current with new inspection technologies and recommend process improvements.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent in a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in production, metrology inspection, or a quality role.
  • Proficiency with CAD software and inspection data management software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Experience with calibrated equipment such as calipers, micrometers, CMM, Faro arm, and OMM.
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, work instructions, wire diagrams, and CAD.
  • Experience analyzing inspection results and providing feedback to production, manufacturing engineering, and quality engineering teams.
  • Experience with investigative equipment such as x-ray inspection, digital characterization, and material certificate of compliance.
  • Experience in a facility operating under AS9100, ISO9001, IATF 16949, or a similar QMS standard.
  • Experience with validation and testing of assemblies and their components.
  • Experience communicating with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
  • U.S. Person status is required to access controlled data.
  • Technical or associate degree in quality, mechanical engineering, or aerospace engineering is preferred.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Quality Improvement Associate, or equivalent certification is preferred; IPC-A-610 or IPC-A-620 certification is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma, TQM, TPS, Lean, or low-rate production is preferred.
  • Knowledge of GD&T is preferred.
  • Experience inspecting electrical and electronic components such as power supplies, PCBs, and wire harnesses is preferred.
  • Experience with manufacturing systems such as Jira, MES, ERP, Teamcenter, and CAD is preferred.
  • Experience auditing processes and procedures in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Detail-oriented self-starter with minimal oversight and strong cross-functional communication ability is preferred.
