Description

  • Conduct supplier selection for specific products using the approved supplier list.
  • Partner with strategic suppliers to accelerate product development and early requirements definition.
  • Develop concept scoping, trade studies, should-cost models, and clean-sheet cost models.
  • Lead joint design development through clear statements of work and design collaboration.
  • Support simulation of mechanical and electronics designs with suppliers and engineering teams.
  • Drive manufacturing BOM development and consolidation with Quality and Manufacturing.
  • Manage NPI component procurement, CAPEX, and supplier ramp-up to scale production.
  • Perform value-stream mapping to improve lead time and supply network flexibility.
  • Complete BOM risk assessments, including alternate component sourcing.
  • Ensure component qualifications are completed before production and reduce complexity through rationalization.
  • Lead cost engineering activities to align bottoms-up cost estimates with target product cost and optimize total cost of ownership.
  • Manage ad hoc cost issues such as tariffs, import/export costs, and cost inflation.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience, ideally with design and development of electronics and/or mechanical devices.
  • Experience in advanced sourcing activities, including commodity or sourcing management roles.
  • Experience in supplier development across technology, process, or supply chain domains.
  • Experience engaging suppliers early, before product or engineering requirements are fully defined.
  • Background in value engineering, procurement engineering, or TCO-related work at the component and product level.
  • Familiarity with high-tech product development in a high-mix, low-volume environment.
  • Some experience working in a startup environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (BSME, BSEE) or another related technical degree preferred.
  • Advanced technical degree or MBA strongly preferred.
  • U.S. Person status required to access export-controlled data.
