Description

  • Shape customer needs into air vehicle and subsystem software requirements in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Develop systems engineering artifacts, including system models, to trace stakeholder inputs through design within a digital thread.
  • Incorporate input from system safety, software engineering, and other disciplines to shape system architecture.
  • Support airworthiness certification efforts for the autonomous aircraft program.
  • Communicate and manage program risks in coordination with the Chief Engineer and Program Management.
  • Support ongoing development of a Group 5 autonomous aircraft.
  • Integrate feedback from test and evaluation campaigns to improve products and systems.
  • Develop subsystem software requirements and interfaces, including mission systems.

Requirements

  • B.S. in aerospace, mechanical, computer science, or a similar engineering or technical field.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience across the lifecycle of a UAS, with a specific focus on aircraft systems.
  • Familiarity with MIL-HDBK-516C, MIL-STD-882E, ARP-4761, ARP-4754A, DO-178C, DO-254, and MIL-STD-881.
  • Experience developing subsystem software requirements and interfaces, including mission systems.
  • Experience with contingency management software architecture and requirements.
  • Experience on mature aircraft development programs, including operational testing and airworthiness certification.
  • Experience with SysML, DoDAF, UAFP, or similar tools and methodologies.
  • Experience developing model-based systems engineering artifacts such as operational viewpoints, system viewpoints, activity diagrams, use case diagrams, BDDs, IBDs, and parametric diagrams.
  • Outstanding communication skills, including the ability to present developed artifacts.
  • Must hold an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Preferred: Experience with Cameo MagicDraw or similar systems engineering software.
  • Preferred: Experience with digital engineering workflows and integrated modeling environments such as Teamwork Cloud.
  • Preferred: Demonstrated high ownership and autonomy across the end-to-end systems engineering lifecycle.
  • Preferred: Must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
