Description

  • Develop Mission Autonomy products that support the operation of Group 5 autonomous air vehicles.
  • Drive product development across the full lifecycle from initial requirements development through fielding.
  • Define product roadmaps and timelines, guide cross-functional product decisions, and manage engineering risk.
  • Work with engineering leads and business development to evaluate tradeoffs and explore early design concepts.
  • Develop autonomy behavior and supporting product requirements, and collaborate with engineering teams to implement them.
  • Work with software, hardware, test, and program management teams to define test requirements and align system capabilities with mission objectives.
  • Plan, execute, and analyze mission autonomy tests in simulated environments that replicate real-world scenarios.
  • Iterate rapidly on autonomy behaviors and supporting products based on test results.
  • Support customer briefings, demonstrations, and exercises as the product voice for business development.
  • Create and maintain updated presentation templates of product capabilities for customer briefs.

Requirements

  • Operational experience as a Pilot or CSO/NFO of USAF, USN, or USMC 4th- or 5th-generation fighter/bomber aircraft or RPAs.
  • Self-starter with a high-ownership, mission-oriented mentality and a strong focus on end-customer needs.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret test data, diagnose system behaviors, and recommend actionable improvements.
  • Organized and detail-oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven track record of working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project milestones and deliverables.
  • Experience leading system design and development from initial concept through delivery to customers.
  • Ability to leverage operational experience and technical knowledge to make decisions and manage engineering tradeoffs without clear customer requirements.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and travel up to 25% for customer engagements and product development activities.
  • Active U.S. Top Secret security clearance and experience with Special Access Programs.
  • 5th-generation aircraft pilot experience preferred.
  • Weapons school instructor, weapons school graduate, test pilot school graduate, or developmental/operational test experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM or equivalent experience in a relevant field preferred.
  • Direct experience developing, testing, and deploying mission autonomy systems in a defense or aerospace context preferred.
  • Familiarity with agile software development practices preferred.
  • Knowledge of industry and military standards for unmanned aerial systems and operation within national airspace preferred.
  • Familiarity with mission autonomy, unmanned systems, and integrating multiple assets into cohesive operational frameworks preferred.
