Description

  • Lead, mentor, and train a team of LRU Technicians to ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to procedures.
  • Plan, prioritize, and assign daily work to manage workflow and meet production timelines.
  • Perform and oversee electromechanical assembly of flight and development avionics hardware, including integration, routing, sealing, alignment, and enclosure assembly.
  • Enforce military and aerospace cleanliness, handling, and preparation standards across the team.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and work instructions, and train others on their proper use.
  • Identify, document, and resolve non-conformances and build issues through root cause analysis and collaboration with engineering and quality teams.
  • Maintain accurate build records and full parts/workmanship traceability in line with aerospace standards.
  • Perform advanced functional testing, validation, and troubleshooting of avionics assemblies.
  • Lead or oversee polymeric processing and conformal coating applications, including potting, encapsulation, bonding, masking, curing, and inspection.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts to improve assembly efficiency, quality, repeatability, and team performance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree in electronics, avionics, or a related field strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of direct LRU technician experience in aerospace, defense, telecommunications, or a related industry.
  • Expert-level knowledge of electronic, electrical, and mechanical systems related to LRUs, including fault isolation and diagnostic techniques.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and train others on technical documentation, schematics, wiring diagrams, and maintenance manuals.
  • Advanced proficiency with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, and functional test systems.
  • Advanced diagnostic and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and strong communication skills with the ability to motivate, guide, and develop team members.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and potentially be on call if required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in a high-reliability production environment preferred, especially military or aerospace settings.
  • Current certifications in NASA-STD-8739.3, IPC-A-610 Class 3, IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 3, J-STD-001 Class 3, and IPC-CC-830, or equivalent, preferred.
  • Experience with MES/ERP systems, precision hand tools, advanced harnessing, PCBA handling, and continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma preferred.
