Description

  • Develop and validate guidance and control laws for TRS drones.
  • Perform hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop testing and analysis.
  • Design aerodynamic configurations for fixed-wing, rotary-wing, and hybrid VTOL platforms across concept through detailed design phases.
  • Conduct aerodynamic analysis using low- and high-order methods, including CFD and in-house tools.
  • Design, implement, and maintain high-fidelity flight simulation models.
  • Validate simulation accuracy against wind tunnel and flight test results.
  • Plan and coordinate wind tunnel and flight testing with flight test personnel.
  • Analyze test data to identify performance trends, bugs, failures, and areas for improvement.
  • Prepare technical reports and briefings to communicate findings to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of applicable professional experience with airborne platforms.
  • 4+ years of experience in aerodynamic design and analysis, flight simulation, and flight testing.
  • Hands-on experience with CFD tools, MATLAB/Simulink, or equivalent simulation platforms.
  • 4+ years of programming and data analysis experience with tools such as MATLAB and C++.
  • Strong understanding of aerodynamics, flight dynamics, stability, and control.
  • US person status is required due to access to export-controlled information.
  • PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience with flight control design and analysis for fixed-wing, rotary-wing, or missile systems is preferred.
  • C/C++ expertise and experience with Simulink Embedded Coder are preferred.
