Description

  • Own a portion of the manufacturing value chain for a product or set of products.
  • Write manufacturing documentation such as work instructions, quality plans, and inspection requirements.
  • Develop process flows that break complex assemblies into logical subassemblies and subprocesses.
  • Work with contract manufacturers to create repeatable processes for quick-turn development and scaled production.
  • Work hands-on with technicians and engineers to build production hardware.
  • Develop tooling solutions for fabrication and assembly of structural parts.
  • Contribute to mechanical or electrical hardware design, including interconnects, board fabrication, and inspection.
  • Travel to suppliers to support sourcing, resolve production issues, and implement quality procedures.

Requirements

  • Degree in a technical field such as engineering or manufacturing.
  • 1+ years of experience in a relevant field, preferably manufacturing or design of electromechanical hardware.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver electromechanical hardware in a resource-constrained environment.
  • Demonstrated in-kind or direct team leadership skills, with supporting examples.
  • Experience physically manufacturing hardware through machining, fabrication, soldering, assembly, or similar methods.
  • Genuine interest in manufacturing and a strong desire to learn.
  • U.S. Person status required due to access to export-controlled data.
  • PCBA fabrication experience, including setup, modification, or monitoring of SMT processes (preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with R/C vehicles, autonomous flight vehicles, flight controllers, or related control systems (preferred).
  • Software scripting experience in any language (preferred).
  • Personal or extracurricular project work is a plus (preferred).
