Description

  • Manage day-to-day project work and operations in task-lead and project director roles.
  • Conceptualize research and evaluation problems and help design studies to address them.
  • Lead or contribute to quantitative data collection and analysis using rigorous methods, including experimental and quasi-experimental designs and machine learning.
  • Lead field-based data collection activities and oversee data management for surveys and administrative data.
  • Build and maintain data use agreements and support appropriate analysis of client-funded questions.
  • Design, develop, and maintain analytic dashboards for monitoring, descriptive analysis, and stakeholder communication.
  • Write briefs, blogs, and reports that present findings using charts, graphs, dashboards, and other visualizations.
  • Communicate study progress and findings to clients, internal teams, and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate across multidisciplinary project teams and maintain positive client and stakeholder relationships.
  • Prepare timelines, coordinate staff task assignments, and contribute to jointly developed deliverables on time and within budget.

Requirements

  • PhD in a related field such as Economics, Statistics, Public Policy, Public Health, Human Development, Political Science, Psychology, or Sociology, or a master’s degree with at least 4 years of relevant applied research experience.
  • Demonstrated commitment to advancing evidence through rigorous research and evaluation.
  • Knowledge of and experience in human and community development topic areas.
  • Experience designing research and evaluation protocols, including study design, data collection, and analytic plans.
  • Experience applying rigorous quantitative methodologies, including experimental and quasi-experimental approaches such as propensity score matched designs, difference-in-differences, regression discontinuity designs, and instrumental variables.
  • Experience using administrative and/or survey data.
  • Ability to translate conceptual or policy-relevant questions into work plans, timelines, and analytic strategies.
  • Experience with complex data integration and data visualization, including analytic dashboards, preferred but not required.
  • Experience with rigorous qualitative methods such as structured interviews, focus groups, observations, and survey research, preferred but not required.
  • Experience using analytic software packages such as R or STATA.
  • Ability to communicate research findings clearly in writing, visually, and orally.
  • Experience building and maintaining client and partner relationships.
  • Experience supporting business development efforts, including grant and proposal writing, preferred but not required.
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis; visa sponsorship is not available.
  • Qualified candidates may need to meet certain residency requirements depending on project work.

Benefits

  • Anticipated annual salary range of $92,700 to $113,000 USD.
  • Remote work available within the United States or from one of AIR’s U.S. office locations.
