Description

  • Build and lead a balanced, high-performing engineering team through recruitment across diverse backgrounds and experience levels.
  • Coach, grow, and support team members through professional development, training, and performance reviews.
  • Foster a highly collaborative environment with strong psychological safety.
  • Contribute to technical and product strategy, especially where team capabilities and gaps affect delivery.
  • Participate in delivery roadmap discussions for clients and the broader product team.
  • Help develop scalable, repeatable team processes and documentation, including onboarding and performance review structures.
  • Contribute to hiring, onboarding, and ongoing learning processes.
  • Take part in performance management and review processes.
  • Support team and culture-building activities.
  • Participate in problem-solving and design discussions across the organization.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of engineering management experience, or 4 years at a tech/team lead level with a strong interest in people.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Empathy and the ability to work effectively with others.
  • Enough technical grounding to participate in problem-solving and design discussions at all levels of the organization.
  • Leadership experience in similar scale or trajectory businesses, such as Series B/C VC-backed startups (preferred).
  • Relevant domain experience in energy or IoT sectors (preferred).
  • Experience working in client-facing roles or managing direct reports in client-facing roles (preferred).
  • Additional language skills, particularly European languages, may be beneficial (preferred).
  • Full working rights in the UK/Europe region are required.
  • Ability to be based ideally in the UK, Germany, or the Netherlands and work predominantly remotely with periodic travel to London and Melbourne.
