Description

  • Lead the day-to-day delivery of health entrepreneurship accelerator programs and venture support initiatives.
  • Track venture progress across cohorts and help founders meet agreed milestones.
  • Provide hands-on coaching to founders on business models, operations, growth, and early-stage scaling.
  • Coordinate mentor onboarding, pairing, engagement tracking, and mentorship impact assessment.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for mentors, ecosystem partners, and sector experts.
  • Plan and execute venture events such as masterclasses, hackathons, Demo Days, and workshops.
  • Manage event logistics, including venues, communication, registration, technology setup, catering, and branding.
  • Maintain program and venture data, including participation, milestones, mentorship interactions, and KPIs.
  • Prepare operational reports, dashboards, and updates for the Healthcare Venture Manager.
  • Oversee budgets, forecasts, procurement, and vendor management for program activities.
  • Supervise and support the Health Entrepreneurship Associate and coordinate across internal ALU teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Business, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in entrepreneurship program leadership, venture support, startup incubation, or innovation management.
  • Strong understanding of early-stage venture development and accelerator or fellowship program delivery.
  • Proven experience coaching or advising founders or early-stage teams.
  • Demonstrated operational leadership, including budget tracking, event management, and program execution.
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and facilitation skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across internal teams and external partners.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-accountability, mission-driven environments.
  • Equity and inclusion mindset with the ability to implement gender- and youth-responsive programs.
  • Master’s degree in Public Health, MBA, MSc Innovation, or Development Practice is preferred.
  • Direct experience founding a venture or leading operational roles in a startup is preferred.
  • Familiarity with health systems, digital health, or health innovation ecosystems in Africa is preferred.
  • Experience with donor-funded programs, venture funds, or accelerator management is preferred.
  • Exposure to cross-institutional or collaborative education programs is preferred.
  • Financial literacy to support operational budgeting, vendor management, and venture financial guidance is preferred.
