Description

  • Own the architecture, operation, infrastructure-as-code, Kubernetes, and release tooling for regulated and sovereign environments.
  • Standardize environment builds into repeatable blueprints that support growth without proportional headcount increases.
  • Lead design reviews, RFCs, prototypes, and technical decisions while maintaining a high engineering quality bar.
  • Contribute hands-on engineering, particularly in operational tooling and greenfield projects.
  • Partner with Security and Compliance to implement secure-by-default patterns and maintain accreditation evidence.
  • Maintain compliance through vulnerability remediation, access reviews, data-handling controls, audits, and assessments.
  • Operate highly available infrastructure with strong SLAs, progressive deployments, redundancy, and incident response practices.
  • Own planning, go-live commitments, cost management, documentation, runbooks, capacity planning, and on-call coverage.
  • Translate regulatory constraints into actionable plans for product, commercial, implementation, and customer teams.
  • Lead, coach, hire, and manage a distributed team across the US, UK, and Australia.

Requirements

  • 8+ years building and operating production cloud infrastructure, including end-to-end environment ownership.
  • Experience leading SRE or platform engineering teams, including performance management, hiring, and career development.
  • Direct experience delivering systems in US federal or similarly regulated environments, such as FedRAMP.
  • Production experience with AWS and/or Azure.
  • Strong Infrastructure as Code skills with Terraform, OpenTofu, or similar tools.
  • Hands-on Kubernetes experience, including cluster management and operational maintenance.
  • Experience designing tooling for air-gapped and compliance-heavy infrastructure.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals and technical judgment.
  • Experience establishing runbooks, on-call processes, documentation, and disciplined planning.
  • Experience leading distributed teams across distant time zones with strong written communication.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication across engineering, security, compliance, implementation, and customer teams.
  • BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Eligibility for a US security clearance is preferred.
  • Experience with international accreditation regimes, launching compliance programs, or working at a startup is preferred.

  • Base salary of $240,000–$280,000, with competitive equity grants for most full-time offers.
  • Discretionary bonus or variable compensation plan, depending on the role.
