Description

  • Design and implement BCP/DR programs aligned with industry frameworks such as ISO 22301, NIST SP 800-34, and ISO 27001.
  • Conduct business impact analyses to identify critical functions, dependencies, and recovery priorities.
  • Define and maintain recovery time objectives and recovery point objectives for critical systems and services.
  • Develop disaster recovery playbooks, runbooks, and crisis communication frameworks.
  • Lead tabletop exercises and disaster recovery drills to validate recovery procedures.
  • Design and implement backup and recovery solutions for AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Build automated backup workflows for databases, storage systems, applications, and configurations.
  • Implement immutable backup strategies, offsite replication, and infrastructure as code for DR environments.
  • Develop automated failover and failback procedures and maintain standby environments.
  • Maintain recovery documentation, testing results, resilience metrics, and compliance records.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, with AWS required and GCP or Azure beneficial.
  • Deep expertise in enterprise backup and recovery solutions such as Veeam, Commvault, or AWS Backup.
  • Strong understanding of cloud storage services including S3, EBS, EFS, RDS, and DynamoDB.
  • Proficiency with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi.
  • Experience with containerized environments including ECS, EKS, and Docker, plus their backup and recovery patterns.
  • Knowledge of database backup and recovery procedures for PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or similar databases.
  • 3+ years of experience in Business Continuity Planning and Disaster Recovery.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing BCP/DR programs for technology organizations.
  • Experience conducting business impact analyses and leading disaster recovery exercises or tabletop simulations.
  • Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation and orchestration.
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployment and testing.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Datadog, CloudWatch, or Prometheus.
  • Professional certifications such as CBCP, MBCP, ABCP, CISA, CRISC, or equivalent are preferred.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator certification is preferred.
  • Experience implementing BCP/DR capabilities from the ground up or through major transformation is preferred.
  • Knowledge of security incident response procedures and integration with DR processes is preferred.
  • Experience with multi-region or multi-cloud recovery architectures is preferred.
  • Experience in SaaS or B2B technology companies is preferred.
