Description

  • Lead and support the creation and documentation of new or revised department procedures to improve operational efficiency and excellence.
  • Recommend departmental objectives and develop solutions to address business and operational challenges.
  • Lead working groups and committees to set goals and implement process or procedural improvements.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to optimize data management technology, processes, and standards.
  • Participate in project and department budget development and manage budgets for assigned projects and staff.
  • Evaluate and help select data system vendors such as EDC, IRT, ePRO, and eConsent.
  • Manage financial aspects of assigned programs, including work orders, change orders, study forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Identify resource needs, interview, hire, onboard, and train new staff as needed.
  • Supervise, mentor, and provide leadership to assigned staff while maintaining team morale and resolving conflicts.
  • Set priorities, oversee team activities, and track individual objectives and key results for direct reports.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet quality, timeline, and cost expectations.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on data collection strategy and study data handling, and liaise with programming to support standardized and analysis-ready clinical databases.
  • Identify project issues and risks proactively and escalate them to senior management for remediation.
  • Coordinate with other departments to resolve issues, support client satisfaction, and execute projects successfully.
  • Support business development activities, including RFIs, RFPs, project pricing, and representation in sponsor or professional meetings.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a college diploma or degree.
  • 7-9 years of relevant experience.
  • CCDM certification is considered an asset.
  • Experience managing staff performance, utilization, retention, and hiring.
  • Experience with budget management, study forecasting, and financial oversight for projects.
  • Experience working with data management systems and vendors such as EDC, IRT, ePRO, and eConsent.
  • Ability to work with internal and external stakeholders in a cross-functional environment.
  • Experience supporting clinical databases and data handling for regulatory submission readiness.
  • Ability to lead teams, mentor direct reports, and conduct performance reviews.
  • Experience contributing to business development activities such as RFIs, RFPs, and pricing is preferred.
