Description

Identify and develop scalable, high-performance solutions for distributed data systems.
Build the next generation of distributed data storage and processing systems.
Design interfaces for data that are simple, expressive, and cleanly abstracted for multiple consumers.
Work across disciplines to shape product strategy and execution.
Develop the foundations of code architecture and quality.
Mentor and coach engineers.
Set and uphold engineering process standards to support high-quality engineering.
Support large-scale data consumers across web applications, business analytics, and artificial intelligence.

Requirements

BS/BTech or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
8+ years of production-level experience building highly scalable systems.
4+ years of experience as a trusted technical decision-maker in a team setting.
4+ years of experience working with SQL or other database querying languages on large multi-table datasets.
Experience architecting, developing, and deploying large-scale distributed systems.
Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Experience building CI/CD pipelines.
Strong familiarity with server-side web technologies such as Java, Python, Scala, C#, C++, or Go.
8+ years of production-level experience building highly scalable and reliable infrastructure (preferred).
Experience designing, building, and optimizing data pipelines and ETL processes (preferred).
Experience with large datasets and data storage technologies (preferred).
Experience with data ingestion systems and performance optimization for large-scale data processing and analysis (preferred).
Experience with AWS technologies and Kafka (preferred).
6+ years of experience with CSS, HTML, JavaScript, and modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, VueJs, or Ember (preferred).
In-depth knowledge of database systems, including replication and sharding for scalability and high availability (preferred).
Experience with performance monitoring and optimization of data systems and infrastructure (preferred).
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes (preferred).
Experience with security-sensitive systems and data governance practices for compliance with regulations such as GDPR or HIPAA (preferred).
Experience leading and mentoring junior engineers (preferred).
