Description

  • Build working prototypes using off-the-shelf and novel AI techniques to improve optimization outcomes.
  • Work with large, complex datasets and solve difficult, non-routine analysis problems to extract usable data.
  • Re-design current pipelines and systems to meet growing data and query demands.
  • Implement techniques for fine-tuning and adapting pre-trained generative models for healthcare-specific tasks.
  • Develop evaluation metrics and benchmarks to measure AI/ML model quality and performance.
  • Design and implement feature engineering pipelines, including data processing, feature extraction, and transformation.
  • Set and uphold engineering process standards, including style checking, code checking, test harnesses, and release packaging.
  • Deliver working proof-of-concept solutions while balancing speed, scalability, and time-to-market tradeoffs.
  • Partner with engineering and analytics teams to bring AI technology into existing products and workflows.
  • Train, fine-tune, and apply AI models using medical data from millions of patients.

Requirements

  • BS/BTech or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant deep learning and LLM work experience.
  • 8+ years of relevant machine learning and statistical analysis experience.
  • 3+ years of Python experience.
  • Experience addressing incomplete, unrepresentative, and mislabeled data.
  • Experience working with large-scale distributed systems and statistical software such as Spark.
  • 3+ years of demonstrated proficiency in selecting the right tools for data optimization problems.
  • Ph.D. or Master's degree in a quantitative discipline, or equivalent practical experience (preferred).
  • Proficiency communicating analysis and building confidence with audiences outside your discipline (preferred).
  • Experience with security and systems that handle sensitive data (preferred).
  • Experience with Databricks and/or MLflow (preferred).
  • Experience designing and implementing production-ready agentic systems (preferred).
  • Proficiency in at least one major deep learning framework such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Keras (preferred).
  • Demonstrated leadership and self-direction (preferred).
  • First-author publications at peer-reviewed conferences such as NeurIPS, ICML, ACL, JSM, KDD, or EMNLP (preferred).
  • Competitive programming or Kaggle recognition such as ACM-ICPC, NOI/IOI, or Kaggle wins (preferred).
  • Working knowledge of health-tech systems such as Electronic Health Records and clinical data (preferred).
  • Physical ability to sit for prolonged periods, use a computer and keyboard extensively, and occasionally walk or lift.
