Description

  • Develop and implement scalable and performant solutions for variable data ingestion challenges.
  • Design systems that handle disparate external data formats in healthcare data feeds.
  • Partner with Engineering Managers, Product Managers, and stakeholders to develop and execute technical roadmaps using Agile processes.
  • Mentor and coach junior engineers through code reviews and feedback.
  • Review pull requests thoroughly and help improve engineering quality across the team.
  • Build solutions that emphasize observability, alerting, metrics, test coverage, and frequent releases.
  • Contribute to the development of secure, maintainable, correct, stable, and scalable systems.
  • Support rapid onboarding of new data feeds to improve visibility into patient populations.

Requirements

  • BS/BTech or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience as an engineer in backend or data engineering development on a cross-functional team.
  • 3+ years of experience with SQL or another database querying language on large multi-table data sets.
  • 3+ years of experience acting as a trusted technical decision-maker in a team setting.
  • 3+ years of experience coaching other engineers.
  • Experience with health-tech systems such as Electronic Health Records or clinical data (preferred).
  • Experience designing, building, and optimizing data pipelines and ETL processes (preferred).
  • Experience with large datasets and data storage technologies (preferred).
  • Experience working with data ingestion systems and optimizing performance for large-scale processing and analysis (preferred).
  • In-depth knowledge of database systems (preferred).
  • Experience with performance monitoring and optimization of data systems and infrastructure (preferred).
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes (preferred).
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines (preferred).
  • Experience with security and systems that handle sensitive data (preferred).
  • Experience with statistical data techniques such as causal inference, syntactic analysis, sampling methods, or NLP, especially with incomplete or mislabeled data (preferred).
  • 1+ years of experience building systems that incorporate AI SDK access (preferred).
  • Experience with prompt engineering, tool calling, MCP development, vector databases, or RAG (preferred).
  • Experience with AI system design and foundational model applications (preferred).
  • Experience weighing determinism versus LLM-in-the-loop tradeoffs (preferred).
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud (preferred).
