Description

  • Plan and track development cycles end to end, keeping work visible and on track.
  • Run cycle kickoffs and retrospectives and ensure each cycle closes with clear outcomes.
  • Maintain GitHub project boards, issues, milestones, labels, and related workflow hygiene.
  • Identify blockers and capacity issues early and escalate them before they become misses.
  • Own the inbound queue for bugs and customer requests, ensuring items are triaged, assigned, and progressing.
  • Work with the Head of Engineering to balance incoming requests against cycle commitments.
  • Follow up proactively with engineers, close open loops, and keep the team moving.
  • Run regular 1:1s, coach engineers, and support their technical and professional growth.
  • Support hiring activities including phone screens, interviews, and offer coordination.
  • Onboard new engineers with clear 30-60-90 plans and structured ramp support.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years managing an engineering team.
  • Solid Kubernetes experience and enough domain knowledge to be credible with the team and customers.
  • Experience with Go, including the ability to read, review, and contribute to the codebase.
  • Strong organizational habits and a system-driven approach to follow-through.
  • Fluency with GitHub operations, including issues, pull requests, project boards, labels, and milestones.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to give straightforward answers to engineers and stakeholders.
  • Enough technical depth to understand engineering work, review PRs, and spot problems early.
  • Comfort running development cycles in Shape Up, Scrum, Kanban, or similar workflows.
  • Self-directed comfort with ambiguity in a fast-moving startup environment.
  • Hands-on experience with GitOps workflows or the CNCF ecosystem, such as Argo CD, Kargo, or Flux (strong advantage).
  • Familiarity with the Shape Up development methodology (strong advantage).
  • Open source project or CNCF ecosystem exposure, such as Argo CD, Kargo, or Flux (strong advantage).
  • Experience with GitHub Actions, AWS, Auth0, or Stripe (strong advantage).
  • Exposure to security and compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, or ISO 45001 (strong advantage).
