Description

  • Lead a team of 6-10 Automation Quality Engineers and provide mentoring, technical direction, and hands-on guidance.
  • Own the existing test automation framework built with Java/JS, Selenium, and Playwright, keeping it healthy while evolving it.
  • Define the quality architecture, including frameworks, toolchain, and the roadmap from traditional automation to agentic solutions.
  • Partner with engineering leaders to design deterministic and LLM-assisted agent workflows with human-in-the-loop governance.
  • Build observability and reporting tooling such as coverage dashboards, flakiness detection, and CI quality gates.
  • Design and validate testing approaches for AI-powered features, including behavioral validation, non-deterministic regression, and output evaluation.
  • Create internal tools that improve speed and quality across the broader engineering organization.
  • Drive quality initiatives and change management across engineering teams.
  • Run pilots and help guide the team’s transition into agentic quality engineering.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in software engineering, AQE, or SDET with a clear progression toward quality leadership.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Java and/or JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience leading AQE or engineering teams.
  • Strong experience designing automation frameworks rather than only writing tests.
  • Proven ability to drive quality initiatives and change management across engineering teams.
  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted testing tools in production.
  • Familiarity with agentic and LLM concepts, including model output evaluation, non-determinism, and agent orchestration patterns.
  • Experience with CI/CD integration, shift-left practices, and quality-by-design principles.
  • English proficiency at B2+ level.
  • Background in engineering leadership rather than traditional QA management is preferred.
