Description

  • Explore, shape, and develop new product experiences with design and product partners from ideation through implementation at scale.
  • Design and implement scalable Android practices across the Reservation Management team.
  • Champion the team’s Android community and mentor engineers to strengthen team culture.
  • Lead investments in new technical capabilities that enable product innovation.
  • Develop prototypes to validate ideas while accounting for long-term technical design and architecture.
  • Translate prototypes into high-quality, scalable, maintainable production code through iterative development.
  • Write unit and integration tests and review other engineers’ code.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to rapidly ideate, prototype, develop, and ship product experiences.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of industry experience.
  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience building and maintaining high-performance, scalable consumer Android applications.
  • Preferred experience using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
  • Solid engineering and coding skills with understanding of basic data structures and asynchronous programming.
  • Ability to mentor and grow junior engineers and drive best practices for Android client development.
  • Personal projects that demonstrate technical excellence and product sense.
  • Ability to work outside your usual comfort zone and motivation for personal growth.
  • Interest in innovations within the mobile industry.
  • Nice to have: demonstrated design and UX sensibilities.
  • Must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity for this US-remote eligible role.

Benefits

  • Base pay range of $204,000 to $255,000 USD.
  • Eligible for bonus compensation.
  • Eligible for equity.
  • Eligible for benefits.
  • Eligible for Employee Travel Credits.
  • US-remote eligible with occasional office or offsite attendance as agreed with manager.
