Description

  • Draft, review, and update employment contracts, offer letters, and related amendments across seven group entities.
  • Advise on sensitive contract clauses, including non-compete, confidentiality, IP assignment, restrictive covenants, and garden leave.
  • Provide hands-on legal support for termination procedures, including dismissals, mutual terminations, settlements, and exit cost calculations.
  • Assess litigation risk, prepare defence files, and manage employment tribunal matters in coordination with external counsel.
  • Support disciplinary procedures and intervene when cases become contentious.
  • Prepare and review Works Council (CSE) consultations, information processes, and employee representative matters in France.
  • Draft and review HR policies, employee communications, and internal legal guidance for HR teams and management.
  • Implement and advise on GDPR obligations related to employee data processing in coordination with the DPO.
  • Advise on immigration and international mobility matters, including visa and work permit cases.
  • Report on ongoing employment litigation and legal risk to the CPO and other stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Master 2 degree in employment law or an equivalent qualification.
  • 5 to 8 years of experience in employment law, in a law firm, in-house, or both.
  • Significant experience handling terminations, ideally including collective dismissals.
  • Strong experience with employee representative bodies and CSE matters.
  • Expert knowledge of French employment law, including contracts, terminations, disciplinary matters, working time, compensation, and collective agreements.
  • Experience with employment tribunal litigation and managing external counsel.
  • Working knowledge of GDPR as applied to HR data.
  • Exposure to international employment law or multi-country environments is a strong advantage.
  • Familiarity with Anglo-Saxon incentive plans and international employment contracts is appreciated.
  • Fluent English is required in addition to French.
  • Ability to work autonomously, quickly, and with strong rigor in a fast-paced scale-up environment.
  • Strong discretion, integrity, and ability to explain legal issues clearly to non-lawyers.
