Description

  • Break down larger platform projects into smaller tasks and deliver them in phases with team support.
  • Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics to shape product decisions and manage technical trade-offs.
  • Support the operations and availability of platform artifacts by creating metrics, monitoring systems, and escalating issues when needed.
  • Participate in on-call and “keep the lights on” operational support for the team’s systems.
  • Contribute to team growth activities, including participation in the interview process.
  • Build and improve backend systems that support feature creation, exploration, storage, and serving.
  • Work on offline backfilling infrastructure and other platform improvements.
  • Write clear, well-tested, and extensible code that integrates multiple software components.
  • Provide code review feedback and help debug issues in a large codebase.

Requirements

  • 1.5+ years of experience as a software engineer.
  • Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems.
  • Proficiency in Python or Kotlin.
  • Familiarity with distributed systems concepts.
  • Experience with AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
  • Ability to translate simple business problems into solutions spanning multiple software components.
  • Ability to write clear, well-tested, and extensible code.
  • Comfort navigating a large codebase, debugging others’ code, and giving code review feedback.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with a global engineering team.
  • Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
