Description

  • Design and implement distributed systems that support AI agents at high request volumes with strong reliability, performance, and cost-efficiency.
  • Establish testing strategies, observability systems, and CI/CD pipelines to improve quality and catch issues early.
  • Mentor and lead a team of engineers while helping raise engineering standards across the organization.
  • Own the technical roadmap for the AI platform and make architectural decisions that guide future system evolution.
  • Partner with ML engineers and researchers to productionize AI capabilities while maintaining system stability.
  • Reduce incidents and improve operational practices for building and running software at scale.
  • Build platforms and processes that help other engineers ship faster and more safely.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience building and operating distributed systems in production.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve system reliability, including moving services toward 99.9%+ uptime.
  • Deep experience with modern engineering practices, including microservices, Kubernetes, and infrastructure as code.
  • Experience leading technical initiatives and mentoring engineering teams.
  • Strong coding skills with the ability to work across the stack.
  • Experience debugging production issues and implementing comprehensive observability.
  • Ability to make pragmatic trade-offs between ideal solutions and delivered outcomes.
  • Preferred: experience with LLM applications, agent frameworks, or AI/ML infrastructure.
  • Preferred: familiarity with prompt engineering, RAG patterns, and vector databases.
  • Preferred: background in high-growth companies or modern engineering cultures.
  • Preferred: experience with multi-model AI systems such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google models.

  • Base salary range of $203,000 to $304,000 USD.
