Description

  • Conduct independent validations of credit and fraud models, including machine learning and traditional statistical models.
  • Assess model conceptual soundness, data integrity, and performance stability.
  • Develop automated monitoring suites in Python to track drift, PSI, and feature importance changes.
  • Partner with model developers to remediate validation findings and strengthen model robustness.
  • Work with Internal Audit, Internal Controls, and Compliance to resolve audit and regulatory requests.
  • Support the build-out of Affirm Bank’s Model Risk Management function and validation requirements for bank-owned models.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional experience in a highly technical role such as credit/fraud/financial risk modeling, model validation, or quantitative analytics.
  • Deep understanding of the consumer credit lifecycle and/or fraud detection.
  • Experience with loss forecasting, fraud prediction, and stress-testing frameworks.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Python, including pandas, scikit-learn, and statsmodels.
  • Strong SQL skills for large-scale distributed datasets and complex data lineage audits.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, strong critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to different audiences.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

  • Base salary range of $220,000-$280,000 in CA/WA/NY/NJ/CT or $195,000-$255,000 in other U.S. states.
