Description

  • Develop AI systems that automate dispute and chargeback handling using structured evidence and business logic.
  • Build models that automate refunds and help customers receive money back faster.
  • Build and maintain evidence extraction pipelines that process unstructured data using LLM-powered workflows.
  • Prototype new modeling approaches, run offline experiments, and push the best-performing solutions into production with appropriate risk controls.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Servicing Operations, Product, and ML Platform to define requirements and evaluate tradeoffs.
  • Communicate results clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Monitor and maintain model health using strong measurement and monitoring practices.
  • Work closely with ML engineers and platform partners to take models from idea to production.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience as a machine learning engineer.
  • Strong Python skills and experience writing production-quality code.
  • Experience building and evaluating tabular classification models, preferably using gradient-boosted decision trees such as LightGBM, XGBoost, or CatBoost.
  • Experience building applications with LLM APIs such as OpenAI or Anthropic, including structured extraction, prompt engineering, and orchestration frameworks like LangChain or LangGraph.
  • Familiarity with document and unstructured data processing, such as PDF/image extraction or text parsing.
  • Experience with ML lifecycle tooling for training orchestration, experimentation, and model monitoring, such as Kubeflow, Airflow, MLflow, or equivalent platforms.
  • Proficiency using AI-powered developer tools such as Claude Code or Cursor to accelerate iteration, debugging, and code quality.
  • Ability to design solutions that involve multiple software components and implement them in clear, well-tested, extensible code.
  • Comfort navigating a large codebase, debugging others' code, and giving feedback through code reviews.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

  • Base salary range of $160,000-$210,000 for CA, WA, NY, NJ, and CT, or $142,000-$192,000 for other U.S. states.
