Description

  • Set the vision and drive execution for Reliability Engineering at Affirm.
  • Own delivery of high availability for core services and meet service level standards for external partners.
  • Build and mature incident response, risk management, and operational lifecycle programs.
  • Develop software and program management structures for continual risk management across the engineering organization.
  • Establish and run a robust development lifecycle that supports operational excellence and fast experimentation.
  • Partner with Product, Security, Enterprise Risk, Legal, Compliance, and Engineering leaders to identify and mitigate systemic risks.
  • Hire, grow, and lead a global team of SREs, systems engineers, and full-stack engineers.
  • Foster a respectful, supportive, and accountable team culture.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of relevant experience in software and site reliability engineering.
  • Experience leading SRE, systems engineering, and full-stack engineering teams.
  • Proven track record of driving key outcomes that contribute to company success.
  • Experience partnering across disciplines and influencing a wide variety of leaders.
  • World-class communication skills with strong empathetic messaging instincts.
  • Ability to read and understand full-stack code.
  • Proven ability to build and grow teams, retain talent, and work effectively in ambiguity.
  • Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.

  • Base salary range of $300,000 to $360,000 in CA, WA, NY, NJ, and CT, or $267,000 to $327,000 in other U.S. states.
