Description

  • Set the vision and drive execution for Reliability Engineering at Affirm.
  • Own and coordinate high availability of core Affirm services to meet service level standards and external partner expectations.
  • Iterate and maintain a global incident response and operational lifecycle program.
  • Build software and program management structure for continual risk management across the Affirm system and engineering organization.
  • Run a robust development lifecycle that promotes operational excellence and rapid experimentation.
  • Partner with Product, Enterprise Risk, Security, Legal, Compliance, and Engineering leaders to identify and mitigate systemic risks.
  • Hire, grow, and lead a global team of SREs, systems engineers, and full-stack engineers.
  • Foster a respectful, supportive, and inclusive team environment.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of relevant experience in software and site reliability engineering.
  • Experience leading SRE, systems engineering, and full-stack engineering teams.
  • A successful track record of driving key business outcomes.
  • Experience partnering across disciplines and influencing a wide variety of leaders.
  • Excellent communication skills with empathetic messaging instincts.
  • Comfort reading and understanding full-stack code.
  • Proven ability to establish and grow teams and retain talent.
  • Comfort working with ambiguity.
  • Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
