Description

  • Operate and monitor 3D printing equipment, including FDM and similar additive manufacturing technologies.
  • Prepare and configure print jobs using slicing software, including material selection, print orientation, support generation, and machine setup.
  • Load raw materials and consumables such as filaments, resins, and other production inputs.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance, calibration, inspections, and nozzle cleaning.
  • Troubleshoot print failures, hardware issues, calibration problems, and software errors to maintain production efficiency.
  • Inspect printed components for dimensional accuracy and surface quality using measurement and inspection tools.
  • Perform post-processing tasks such as support removal, sanding, cleaning, and finishing to final specifications.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple print jobs while meeting production schedules and deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate production logs, maintenance records, and build documentation.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to other team members and support a clean, safe, organized workspace.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 6+ years of experience working with 3D printing equipment in a professional, production, or hands-on technical environment.
  • Experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting FDM printers.
  • Experience with post-processing and quality inspection of printed components.
  • Strong understanding of print parameters such as layer height, infill, supports, nozzle temperatures, bed adhesion, and material shrinkage.
  • Proficiency with slicing software such as Cura, PrusaSlicer, or Bambu Studio.
  • Familiarity with industrial or prosumer 3D printers and associated materials.
  • Experience printing with materials such as PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, TPU, Nylon, or composite filaments.
  • Ability to troubleshoot printer issues, optimize print settings, and maintain reliable production output across multiple machines.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
