Description

Work with classroom teachers to interpret student abilities and disabilities and support classroom intervention strategies.
Modify general education curriculum as needed and assist students with regular class assignments.
Conduct diagnostic assessments for instruction.
Conduct functional behavior assessments.
Write and implement behavior improvement plans.
Facilitate IEP meetings and write IEP goals and objectives.
Use research-based best practices in daily planning and instruction.
Integrate culturally responsive teaching practices into lessons and interactions with students, families, and colleagues.
Serve as an advisor for a designated group of students.
Communicate regularly with families about academic and social-emotional growth.
Participate in planning and implementing non-instructional activities such as social events and field trips.
Travel and attend in person several times per year for state testing and student events.

Requirements

Current Pennsylvania Intervention Specialist License.
Open to residents of Pennsylvania.
Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
Experience in a full inclusion model or co-teaching in a resource room model.
Comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment with frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word and Outlook.
Excellent organization and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and contribute to a team.
Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks (FBI/BCI).
Experience working in a multi-cultural setting, preferred.
