Description

  • Serve as the teacher of record and primary instructor in French for grades 6-12.
  • Deliver live virtual lessons through web conferencing based on student needs and research-based instructional practices.
  • Set up courses in the Learning Management System.
  • Monitor student progress in asynchronous courses and provide daily feedback and grading.
  • Maintain regular contact with each student.
  • Collaborate with the principal to create and deliver student progress reports.
  • Review student data frequently to adjust instruction and improve outcomes.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students.
  • Integrate culturally responsive teaching practices into lessons and interactions with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Communicate regularly with families about academic and social-emotional growth.
  • Participate in planning and attending non-instructional activities such as social events, field trips, and state testing in person.
  • Travel annually to support required face-to-face state testing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Current Michigan teaching license in the appropriate content area is required.
  • Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
  • Preferred: two years of teaching experience.
  • Comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment with frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word and Outlook.
  • Ability to properly manage confidential information.
  • Ability to stand for up to 90 minutes at a time.
  • Ability to supervise students in all school settings.
  • Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks.
  • Preferred: experience working in a multicultural setting.
  • Open to candidates in Michigan.
  • Willingness to travel and attend in person several times per year for state testing and student events.
