Description

Serve as the teacher of record and primary instructor in French for grades 6-12.
Deliver live virtual lessons through web conferencing based on student needs and research-based instructional practices.
Set up courses in the Learning Management System.
Monitor student progress in asynchronous courses and provide daily feedback and grading.
Maintain regular contact with each student.
Collaborate with the principal to create and deliver student progress reports.
Review student data frequently to adjust instruction and improve outcomes.
Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students.
Integrate culturally responsive teaching practices into lessons and interactions with students, families, and colleagues.
Communicate regularly with families about academic and social-emotional growth.
Participate in planning and attending non-instructional activities such as social events, field trips, and state testing in person.
Travel annually to support required face-to-face state testing.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Current Michigan teaching license in the appropriate content area is required.
Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
Preferred: two years of teaching experience.
Comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment with frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
High proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word and Outlook.
Ability to properly manage confidential information.
Ability to stand for up to 90 minutes at a time.
Ability to supervise students in all school settings.
Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks.
Preferred: experience working in a multicultural setting.
Open to candidates in Michigan.
Willingness to travel and attend in person several times per year for state testing and student events.
