Description

  • Serve as the teacher of record and primary instructor across core content areas and grade levels.
  • Deliver effective live lessons through web conferencing and support both synchronous and asynchronous instruction.
  • Set up each course in the Learning Management System and manage course organization.
  • Monitor student progress, grade assignments daily, and provide feedback in asynchronous courses.
  • Track, maintain contact with, and communicate regularly with each student and their family.
  • Collaborate with the principal to create and deliver student progress reports.
  • Review student-level data frequently and adjust instruction based on findings.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students.
  • Create a joyful, caring classroom environment and implement school-wide culture expectations and norms.
  • Participate in planning and attending non-instructional activities, including social events, field trips, and required in-person testing.
  • Travel for required face-to-face state testing and occasional in-person school events.
  • Collaborate respectfully with colleagues and perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Current West Virginia state teaching license in the appropriate content area.
  • Knowledge of West Virginia State Standards and Common Core Standards.
  • Preferred: 2 years of teaching experience.
  • Comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment with frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word and Outlook.
  • Ability to properly manage confidential information.
  • Ability to stand for up to 90 minutes at a time.
  • Ability to supervise students in all school settings.
  • Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks.
  • Experience working in a multicultural setting preferred.
  • Open to West Virginia residents only.
