Description

  • Design end-to-end Azure data architecture across ingestion, staging, curated, and reporting layers.
  • Define enterprise data domains and canonical data models across clinical, RCM, CRM, and finance.
  • Reverse engineer, document, and version-control the Avatar NX data model, including table relationships, data flows, and ERDs.
  • Define integration patterns across Avatar NX, Salesforce, and financial systems.
  • Standardize data contracts and exchange patterns for batch, API, and event-driven integrations.
  • Establish data governance standards for naming, definitions, data quality, billing rules, and derived logic.
  • Lead development of a data catalog, business glossary, and lineage framework.
  • Enable auditability and traceability for billing logic, rule outcomes, and financial reconciliation.
  • Partner with Finance, RCM, Operations, IT, and Analytics leadership on architecture decisions.
  • Provide architectural guidance to Data Modelers, Developers, and DBAs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 7+ years of experience in data architecture, data modeling, or enterprise data engineering.
  • Hands-on experience designing data platforms in Azure, including ADF, Synapse, Data Lake, and SQL.
  • Experience integrating EHR, CRM, and financial systems.
  • Experience with EHR vendor databases such as Netsmart Avatar NX, Epic, Cerner, or similar.
  • Hands-on experience reverse engineering undocumented or poorly documented schemas and building ERDs from live databases.
  • Experience translating complex clinical and billing data structures into enterprise models.
  • Ability to validate inferred logic with stakeholders, such as encounter flows, billing rules, and documentation timing.
  • Strong expertise in relational and dimensional data modeling.
  • Experience implementing data governance frameworks, lineage, and data quality controls.
  • Advanced SQL Server expertise, including querying, schema analysis, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with large, complex, highly normalized transactional systems.
  • Proficiency with source control tools such as Git, including branching, pull requests, and versioning of models and pipelines.
  • Experience in healthcare data domains, clinical workflows, RCM, and compliance (preferred).
  • Experience supporting finance and revenue cycle reporting, including AR, billing, and reconciliation (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Power BI, SSRS, or other reporting platforms (preferred).
  • Experience working in environments with limited vendor transparency or documentation (preferred).

Benefits

  • Salary range of $140,000 to $160,000, commensurate with experience.
  • Remote work with a US-based home office and no US work restrictions.
