Description

  • Report to the Regional Business Leader and align territory activity with sales team goals and strategy.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with healthcare providers, multidisciplinary care teams, key opinion leaders, and other stakeholders.
  • Deliver MLR-approved educational and disease-state messages to target HCPs.
  • Plan and execute territory business plans to exceed call, adherence, and financial goals.
  • Analyze sales potential and optimize outreach to maximize territory performance within budget and compliance guidelines.
  • Address customer concerns and coordinate with internal teams to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support patients and providers and align on strategy.
  • Participate in patient advocacy events, conferences, weekend events, and training sessions.
  • Stay current on market trends, Acadia products, and the assigned therapeutic area.
  • Guide customers on product pricing and access and serve as a liaison for complex questions.
  • Represent Acadia professionally and uphold accountability, compliance, and company values.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, with a strong preference for life sciences.
  • 3+ years of pharmaceutical sales experience for Area Business Manager, including at least 1 year in specialty sales with an emphasis in rare diseases.
  • 8+ years of pharmaceutical sales experience for Sr. Area Business Manager, including 5 years in specialty sales with an emphasis in rare diseases.
  • Preferred experience in specialty sales, including rare diseases, CNS/neurology, or pediatric neurology.
  • Familiarity with specialty distribution and access.
  • Advanced selling and dialogue skills with the ability to build lasting relationships with KOLs, Centers of Excellence, and multidisciplinary care teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally to create and execute actionable business plans that support patient access to therapy.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with a self-motivated, proactive attitude.
  • Must live within the territory and have a valid driver’s license.
  • Willingness to travel extensively, including up to 80% travel, overnight stays, and air travel.
  • Must be in good standing with the FDA and OIG.
  • Ability to personally drive a company-provided car and travel independently by airplane as needed.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, sit, and perform other routine physical tasks, with occasional lifting up to 20 pounds.
