Description

  • Define and deliver data platform offerings across AWS for internal engineering and data science customers.
  • Build tooling and services for online storage platforms that enable self-serve capabilities for stakeholders.
  • Work cross-functionally with other engineering teams to identify scalability gaps in data-intensive systems.
  • Own key areas of the data platform charter and execute plans to mitigate system scalability issues.
  • Partner closely with the engineering team to define and build the next generation data platform.
  • Contribute to technical projects that improve the reliability, scalability, and operational excellence of storage systems.
  • Help improve how engineering and data science teams use high-scale data storage systems.
  • Mentor and onboard other engineers as part of the team’s technical growth.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience working on data-intensive applications and distributed systems.
  • Strong background in building platforms, tools, and systems that support engineering teams.
  • Depth in one or more online data storage systems such as relational, key-value, document-oriented, or columnar databases.
  • Experience operating in high-scale environments as an expertise provider or power user.
  • Proven track record of driving engineering initiatives that require cross-team collaboration.
  • Expertise in one or more parts of the online storage tech stack, including relational databases, RocksDB, ElasticSearch, Redis, or Kafka.
  • Excellent ability and strong desire to onboard and mentor other engineers.
  • Experience with AWS is implied by the role and preferred for success in the position.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $179,800 to $258,500 USD.
  • Eligible for bonus or incentive compensation.
