Description

  • Own and evolve the reference architecture across data ingestion, transformation, distribution, serving, applications, integrations, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Set standards for scalability, high availability, disaster recovery, serverless patterns, multi-tenant SaaS, security, and compliance across AWS and Azure.
  • Design healthcare payer data architectures covering claims, membership, provider, clinical, laboratory, and pharmacy domains.
  • Establish reusable data contracts, lineage, metadata, quality controls, integration patterns, application blueprints, and front-end design standards.
  • Define reusable tenant management, roles, permissions, and administrative experience patterns.
  • Translate architecture standards into skills, rules, templates, and evaluation rubrics for agent-assisted development.
  • Evaluate AI-generated code and designs and partner on AI gateways, MCP/A2A interfaces, retrieval, evaluation, traceability, and governed model access.
  • Mentor engineers and Solution Architects through design reviews, pairing, pilots, and ownership handoffs.
  • Establish lightweight architecture governance, decision records, non-functional requirements, and production-readiness reviews.
  • Ensure architectures include deployment, observability, support, rollback, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and operational telemetry requirements.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of software engineering experience, including significant senior architecture experience across cloud, data, integration, and application systems.
  • Experience setting enterprise architecture standards and leading as a Principal-level individual contributor without formal management authority.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure, containers, Kubernetes, Git-based CI/CD, Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tools, observability, and secure production operations.
  • Experience with distributed data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, or Spark.
  • Experience with Python, API-first services, React/TypeScript, identity and authorization, and multi-tenant SaaS architectures.
  • Working knowledge of LLM applications, MCP/A2A, LangGraph or comparable orchestration, AI-assisted developer tools, agent-driven development, retrieval/context patterns, and AI evaluation.
  • Understanding of healthcare payer, provider, clinical, and claims data ecosystems, or the ability to quickly learn regulated data domains.
  • Familiarity with HITRUST, GovRamp, or comparable frameworks, including privacy, least privilege, auditability, and secure SDLC practices.
  • Excellent communication skills for aligning technical and business stakeholders and producing clear architecture documentation.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience; experience with reference architectures, design systems, FHIR, or AI-agent architecture is preferred.
