Description

  • Analyze and interpret statutes, regulations, and subregulatory guidance.
  • Synthesize policy and communicate requirements to clients, stakeholders, researchers, designers, product strategists, and engineers.
  • Develop policy recommendations, alternative solutions, and implementation strategies for products and services.
  • Advise government clients, partners, and senior management on complex policy and operational issues.
  • Build relationships across teams, gain stakeholder buy-in, and prevent delivery silos.
  • Identify project risks, conflicts, government requirements, and compliance considerations, escalating issues when appropriate.
  • Drive cross-functional projects and provide information, coaching, and mentorship across disciplines.
  • Represent A1M and project teams with government clients and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with agile and human-centered design teams to deliver client outcomes.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • College degree in political science, communications, or a related field.
  • Personal experience with government health and human services programs.
  • Expertise applying policy hierarchies and interpreting statutes, regulations, and agency guidance.
  • Working knowledge of Medicare, the Affordable Care Act, Medicaid, and CHIP.
  • Experience with a state or federal government, particularly a government health or Medicaid agency.
  • Experience working with distributed, cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, engineers, and subject matter experts.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving client priorities and work effectively with government partners.
  • Must work from the United States, have permanent U.S. residency and existing work authorization, and not require ongoing visa sponsorship.
  • Must have lived in the United States for 3 of the past 5 years, cannot reside in New York State, and must complete a Public Trust background investigation.
  • Preferred: knowledge of Public Law 119-21/WFTC, HHS or CMS consulting experience, civic tech or social-impact product experience, SAFe or agile methodologies, and human-centered design.
