Description

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services and integrations using Java or Kotlin.
  • Implement and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database structures to ensure efficient data flow between applications and databases.
  • Support, enhance, and troubleshoot SOAP-based APIs and critical integration layers.
  • Analyze, debug, and optimize existing backend logic for performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with product, client, and cross-functional engineering teams to ensure seamless integration, testing, and deployment.
  • Communicate technical status, risks, and timelines clearly to client stakeholders and project teams.
  • Own assigned backend integration tasks and deliverables within a fast-paced retail technology engagement.

Requirements

  • 5–9 years of professional backend engineering experience.
  • Expertise in Java or Kotlin, with strong proficiency in Kotlin preferred.
  • Advanced SQL and database querying skills, capable of reading and debugging dense SQL code and stored procedures.
  • Hands-on experience with SOAP-based APIs and related integration frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of data flow, database architecture, and backend application performance and scalability.
  • Excellent client management, communication, and stakeholder-facing skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a distributed, remote setup during EST or CST hours.
  • Immediate availability to start (project already underway); this is a 90-day contractual engagement.
