Description

  • Develop frameworks to migrate on-premise software and data assets to Snowflake and Azure.
  • Assist with migrating databases, stored procedures, analytic scripts, and other software assets to cloud platforms.
  • Maintain, improve, and develop software solutions and infrastructure.
  • Establish engineering best practices for deploying and managing cloud and data-platform assets.
  • Gather requirements, validate understanding, and maintain technical documentation.
  • Design, develop, test, and launch solutions while participating in Agile planning and ceremonies.
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and managers to address user needs and improve client outcomes.
  • Provide work estimates, status tracking, and project reporting.
  • Participate in code reviews, technology investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain technical knowledge through research, education, and experimentation.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of professional experience with Python and SQL.
  • Experience with Snowflake, SQL Server, Oracle, and stored procedures.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Azure, and AKS.
  • Experience with Git, Jenkins, and Agile development methodologies.
  • Experience migrating data engineering assets and applications to cloud platforms.
  • Experience engineering medium-to-large software systems and building scalable frontend/backend applications.
  • Proficiency with relational databases and strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Financial industry experience is required; Canadian Securities Course completion or CFA candidacy is an asset.
  • Preferred experience with C#, React, Flask, FastAPI, Django, Airflow/Astronomer, dbt, SSIS, and Power BI.
  • Preferred experience with financial data providers, cloud web-application migrations, and AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Copilot, or Cursor.
  • Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or another quantitative discipline is preferred.
  • Strong English communication skills and the ability to work with technical professionals and Capital Markets users.
