Description

  • Develop and refine strategies for acquiring research data from scientific laboratory instruments.
  • Engineer and operationalize custom file parsers for diverse instrument output formats, including .xlsx, .pdf, .txt, .raw, .fid, and proprietary binaries.
  • Architect and implement robust data models, scalable data pipelines, and modular utility libraries.
  • Build comprehensive unit and integration tests for data processing solutions.
  • Perform comparative analysis across similar instruments or workflows to design shared, extensible data model components.
  • Create visualizations, reports, and interactive dashboards using tools such as Streamlit, Tableau, and Jupyter Notebook.
  • Deliver product capabilities for clients and contribute to project delivery ownership.
  • Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to translate technical product needs into solutions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience building solutions as a Data Engineer or in a similar field.
  • 3+ years of experience working with Python and SQL in a data-focused environment.
  • Experience with data plotting and dashboarding tools such as Streamlit, Tableau, and Jupyter Notebook (plus).
  • Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to take control of project delivery and work with technical product stakeholders.
  • Ability to quickly understand highly technical products and communicate effectively with product management and engineering.
  • A degree in biology, chemistry, or a relevant field, or 3+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotech scientific data engineering, data modeling, or data analytics (nice to have).
  • Exposure to DevOps practices in cloud environments (nice to have).
  • Some React experience (nice to have).
  • Interest in data problems and using AI/LLMs to generate creative ideas (nice to have).
